More About Telemedicine
How does Telemedicine work?
Telemedicine house-calls are setup so that patients can interact with a doctor through virtual online appointments.
During a Telemedicine house-call, a Care for Womens Medical Group provider will speak to patients as they would during a face-to-face interaction. For example, patients will still be asked about:
- Their symptoms and how they’re feeling.
- Any medications they’re currently taking.
- Any relevant information about the condition they’re calling about.
As with face-to-face visits, a Telemedicine chat is a two-way conversation. Patients are encouraged to ask questions, seek advice and interact with the Care for Womens Medical Group provider on the other end.
Why are Telemedicine visits important?
Telemedicine visits are a great tool for a number of reasons:
- Patients that are unable to attend a Care for Womens Medical Group office can still have a consultation with a Care for Womens Medical Group provider.
- For those with limited mobility, time or transportation, Telemedicine provides a quick and convenient way to still make sure that their healthcare needs are being attended to.
Telemedicine house-calls and coronavirus (COVID-19)
With the sudden emergence of COVID-19, Telemedicine house-calls offer patients a safe and secure way to receive the health advice they need quickly.
Patients can discuss the presence (or absence) of symptoms and receive information about the next steps to be taken. That may involve self-quarantine, testing for the virus or scheduling an in-person visit.
